My First Participation in the WYBS—Reflection on 8th WYBS
Publisher: Date: 2018-09-21 View: 2859

This is my first participation in the WYBS in 2018. My immediate reaction is that it requires long session of sitting and very one way of communication. However as the event unfolded I witness a lot of high value speaker sessions and I have found out that I have learned a lot from it. I stopped complaining and looking forward to new session each time. I particularly like the session on science and Buddhism comparison, it lets me understand a lot of uncertainties that I had before. Previously I just do good to mankind and make sure I follow the simple Buddhist percepts. Now I understand awareness is the most important of all. The changeable events, emptiness and the complimentary existence. So Buddhism does not advocate that there is God but the aware of the nature and how it works. This explains lot of things I was unclear of before. Now I know that there are a lot that I need to learn and looking forward to improve my knowledge base about Buddhism in future.

I am also very impressed with the African PAPA and what he has dedicated 5 rebirths to help to improve the situation in the whole of Africa.
